Pride, Passion and Plates with Purpose

The Lion’s Den

back to The Fifth Element

At Sequoia Studios, some of our most rewarding projects come from the most unexpected places — like a simple Facebook post.

We had shared a casual call-out on social media, inviting local cafés to get in touch if they needed high-quality food photography. Among the first to respond was the team behind The Lion’s Den, a proudly independent café on Wey Hill in Haslemere. We were instantly drawn to their ethos: great food made with heart, welcoming everyone — whether you’re after a hearty breakfast or a plant-based lunch with flair.

Vegan Breakfast

We arranged a shoot across a couple of days to capture the full scope of their offering. From colourful vegan burgers and indulgent breakfast stacks to freshly brewed coffee, we focused on the energy and creativity behind each plate. Alongside stills photography, we also produced action-packed hyperlapse reels that brought the café to life — capturing the daily rhythm of the kitchen, barista bar and customers flowing in and out with that unmistakable Haslemere buzz.

The images now feature extensively across The Lion’s Den’s website and social media — a visual identity that’s bold, fresh, and unmistakably their own.

The Lion’s Den
Midhurst

Not long after, the owner opened a second Lion’s Den in nearby Midhurst — and once again we were invited to be part of the next chapter. This time, we focused on the design and layout of the new space, shooting interior and exterior stills to showcase the café’s warm and modern aesthetic. We even brought the drone out for some elevated exterior shots, giving a unique perspective of the location and surrounding town.

It’s been a joy to watch The Lion’s Den grow and evolve while staying true to its roots — independent, inclusive and full of soul. We’re proud to be part of their journey.
