🍫 Wicked Chocolate Mousse

003: Funday on Sunday with Bunday!

back to The Fifth Element

This week’s Funday on Sunday adventure is pure indulgence: a Wicked Chocolate Mousse inspired by Mary Berry’s classic recipe and brought to life through the creative lens of Sequoia Studios.

From the first swirl of melting chocolate to the final spoonful of silky mousse, this week’s animated reel celebrates the joy of making something beautiful from simple ingredients. And yes — our googly-eyed egg is back, observing the chaos from the safety of its egg box! 👀🥚

Set to a cheeky stop-motion soundtrack, the film transforms an everyday dessert into a playful visual story that’s part cookery, part character piece, all charm.

Wicked Chocolate Mousse Recipe

(Inspired by Mary Berry’s original recipe — see maryberry.co.uk)

Serves: 6  Prep time: 20 mins  Chill: 2–3 hours

Brandy being added to indulgent chocolate mousse mixture

Ingredients

  • 25g plain chocolate (such as Bournville), broken into small pieces

  • A knob of butter

  • 1 tbsp brandy (optional, not for us though!)

  • 3 large eggs, separated

  • 150ml double cream, lightly whipped

Method

  1. Measure the chocolate into a bowl and set it over a pan of simmering water.
Melt slowly, ensuring it doesn’t become too hot.

  2. Stir in the butter, brandy and egg yolks one at a time, mixing until combined.
    Set aside to cool slightly.

  3. Whip the egg whites until just stiff. Fold gently into the chocolate mixture along with the whipped cream until evenly combined.

  4. Spoon into a glass bowl (1-litre capacity) or 6 stemmed glasses/ramekins.
Transfer to the fridge to set.

  5. Dust with cocoa powder and shaved chocolate to serve.

Simple, elegant, and completely irresistible.
